House of the sun
Installation
Here, we live in the shade.
What if, in a few years’ time, the cities of the south were doomed to nothing but dust, stones and heat, how would human beings protect themselves?
Where would they find shelter?
Set in the geo-climatic reality of the Mediterranean, the House of the Sun offers passive, non-impact cooling systems for domestic spaces.
These membrane objects are activated by wind and water, and deploy at different distances from the body.
The objects from the House of the sun function as artifacts capable of creating exchanges with their environment.
From the threshold to the patio to the living room, they contribute to refreshment through their handling, shape and sound.
By using these objects, different types of thermal comfort are created in the spaces.
